PURPOSE
The purpose of this ministry is to promote Biblical literacy amongst the members of Oasis Global United Methodist Mission Church and the community at large. Christians need to be encouraged to study the Bible so that they can grow in their spiritual walk with God. Studying the Bible builds faith in the life of a believer and it helps a Christian “live wisely” as the Apostle Paul taught the younger Minister Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15-17 King James Version (KJV) and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Life is challenging and complex in its very nature but a consistent habit of studying the scriptures helps Christians to navigate life God’s way. This information is readily found in the Bible but sadly many believers do not open their Bibles due to the busyness of life. Our Bible studies are designed not just for reading the scriptures but we incorporate rich times of discussing the material that has been read as we allow ourselves to be taught of God through a time of vulnerable but healthy discussion in a safe environment. The church Bible study incorporates people of all ages from the youth to the seniors cutting across various geographical territories enabled by technology. We benefit from the curiosity of the youth eager to learn Biblical principles as they hear concepts being taught for the first time to discussions by seasoned theologians and everyone else in between.
The freedom of though and curiosity in our Bible Studies as we examine the scriptures usually culminates in great joy as we approach the end of the study as we usually pray for God’s presence to teach us through our study. We usually tackle a book at a time and study each book chapter by chapter and we are currently studying the Book of John. You are most welcome to join us every Friday for our weekly Bible Study.
