God with us
Matthew 28:16-20 is a reminder that Jesus is present for all eternity. This is a revelation that Jesus is with His disciples from the very beginning to the very end. The word “age” means eternity, forever and no end.
‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go thus and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have commanded you. Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’
This command is a mission for His disciples to spread His teachings all across the earth. The twelve disciples then become many, and up to these days, we are also His disciples. We are the living witnesses of his miracles. The disciples need not be famous nor educators. Only the providence by God is the most important ticket to spread His teachings to all nations.
We must live the gospel according to Matthew 28:16-20 considering our present world, between the pandemic and war. We are living in such a chaotic world where every nation is not clear what next. We are experiencing vulnerability in different ways. We even don’t know what will happen to us in the next few days, months, years, and decades.
As Christians, we only need to speak with confidence as Jesus wants us to be. Hand in hand, we must stand with the cross and spread the words that will lift us all up. We don’t need to be rich and educated to spread the word of God, we only need to speak the true from our bottom of our heart, knowing that “God is with us.”
